About Me

Kay moved to Evergreen from rural Upper Michigan over 16 years ago. While attending Northern Michigan University I was set up on a blind date and hence the journey to Colorado began. My husband would visit his family almost every summer during his yearly bachelor vacation to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Three of his sisters were insistent that I meet there brother from Colorado. They plotted and planned for 2 years, their final efforts was to give me his resume. They thought we would be perfect for each other. His three sisters were right.

The first time I came to visit Evergreen; I fell in love with not only my husband but this charming mountain town. I graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. I worked as a Social Worker at a spinal cord and Brain Injury Center in Denver and was a Victims Assistance Worker for a local Police Department.

For the past nine years I have been known as the Cookie Lady of Evergreen. I started an organization called “The Cookie Project” to raise money for local charities to help victims of domestic violence. I am also the founder of the Evergreen Community Soldier Bake. My husband was deployed overseas for a year after 911. I started baking cookies for the Troops to show my support and to keep myself busy. It is always an amazing sight to see the people of our community baking cookies together.

The mountain area has been an incredible place to raise my 2 children. If you are thinking about a place anywhere in the foothills/mountain area to call home, it would be my pleasure to give you a mountain tour. The foothills offer many unique home styles and neighborhoods. If you are looking for a remote cabin to a custom built estate home or looking to move down the hill, I can help you find what you are looking for. I also specialize in working with individuals who communicate using American Sign Language. My youngest son was born deaf and our entire family “signs”. My years of community involvement and charity work lead me to join the Legendary Properties Sotheby’s office. When Sotheby’s learned about my ongoing efforts to raise money to build a permanent school for the deaf in Denver they invited me to join their team. They have been committed & supportive in helping secure a permanent home for The Rocky Mountain Deaf School.
